Saved names and first-name drafts

Saved surnames use localStorage under the key nameidea:saved:v1, with a limit of 100. They stay in this browser and do not sync across devices or get sent to Nameidea. You can remove them through Saved names or clear the website data in your browser. If storage is unavailable, favorites last only for this visit.

First-name drafts remain in the current page memory. They are not saved in localStorage or sent to Nameidea. Copying uses your device clipboard; its later handling depends on your device and other applications.

Requests and analytics

Loading pages, fonts, images and the surname sampler dataset sends ordinary website requests. Hosting services may process request metadata such as IP address, requested URL and browser information for delivery and security. Nameidea currently loads no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking scripts and sets no application cookies.

Email and external links

When you email Nameidea, your email provider and the receiving email service process the message and sender details. Share only what is needed to answer your request. External source links open other websites, whose privacy practices apply there.

Contact Nameidea for questions about this notice or information you have sent by email. If the site adds accounts, analytics or new storage, this notice will be updated to describe those changes.
